Mark is a highly experienced litigation and transaction lawyer and the founder and principal of Mark Gustavsson & Associates. Mark has a proven track record of success in handling complex legal matters, including commercial litigation, intellectual property, asset recoveries, consumer protection, employment law, insurance law, and more. He has extensive experience in negotiating and drafting commercial agreements, advising on regulatory compliance issues, and handling complex transactions, including mergers & acquisitions.

Yapp Hau Pehn

Senior Paralegal

Hau Pehn was admitted as a legal practitioner in South Australia in 1979. Hau Pehn ceased service as a lawyer in 2025 but continues to provide his knowledge and expertise in his role as a Senior Paralegal. Hau Pehn has extensive experience in commercial law, including liquor licensing, commercial leases, property law, and wills and estates. With a wealth of knowledge, Hau Pehn is an asset to the MGA team and brings a wealth of information to all legal matters.

Toni Monteleone

Special Counsel

Admitted to practice in 1997, Toni is a seasoned commercial and civil lawyer with over 20 years’ experience specialising in litigation and dispute resolution. Toni advises a wide range of clients — from small businesses to public institutions — on matters including contracts, corporations law, commercial tenancy, trade practices, and construction disputes. With a practical, commercially-minded approach, Toni delivers tailored legal strategies to help clients achieve favourable outcomes.

Moon Xu

Practice Manager

Moon earned her master’s degree from Northumbria University (UK) and Griffith University (Australia). She launched her career in business consultancy, gaining valuable cross-market experience in London, Shanghai, and Adelaide. In her role as Practice Manager, Moon is instrumental in driving the firm’s growth and client engagement. She spearheads client acquisition and nurtures strong, long‑term relationships with clients and partners—ensuring exceptional satisfaction and repeat business.

Giuliano Gligora

Operations Manager

Giuliano serves as Operations Manager at Mark Gustavsson & Associates. With a background in finance, including working for one of Australia’s largest banks, and previous experience as a business owner, Giuliano assists the firm in the areas of financial management, strategic planning, business operations and debt recovery. Giuliano also carries a strong business development mindset to his role, leveraging operational insights to identify growth opportunities, streamline client-facing processes, and align daily workflows with strategic expansion goals, thereby enhancing both client satisfaction and firm performance.

Marco Chen

Legal Assistant

Mr. Chen brings a wealth of legal knowledge and practical experience to his role as a legal assistant, drawing on his background as a qualified lawyer in China. He holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Law from China and has furthered his legal education through various training programs in Europe. Now working as a legal assistant, Mr. Chen applies his strong research, drafting, and case management skills to support the legal team efficiently. His multilingual abilities and international legal exposure make him particularly adept at assisting clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Lum Man

Conveyancing Assistant

Lum holds a Management degree from the University of South Australia and brings strong experience in client service and administration to her role as a Conveyancing Assistant at Mark Gustavsson & Associates. She plays a key role in supporting the conveyancing process, handling document preparation, coordinating transactions, and maintaining clear and consistent communication with clients to ensure a smooth journey from instruction through to settlement. Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Lum is adept at providing clear guidance and building trusted relationships with clients from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Cynthia Gustavsson

Legal Secretary

Cynthia has been a valued member of Mark Gustavsson & Associates since 2020. In her role as Legal Secretary, she expertly manages the firm’s daily finances — including rigorous oversight of the trust account to ensure full regulatory compliance — playing a key role in maintaining the firm’s fiduciary integrity. Cynthia also serves as a pivotal liaison with clients, handling inquiries and fostering professional communication with tact and discretion In addition to financial administration, she supports lawyers directly by managing calendars and deadlines and aiding with case file organisation.
